Slide presentation evaluation rubric

It must be simple, clear and a focus while the speaker is giving the talk. It is useful if the audience is given printed handouts of your screens before the talk.

Most obvious
points
  1. Is the heading point size more than the body information point size?
  2. Is the heading centred on the screen?
  3. Is the heading always on the slide before the text or illustrations.
  4. Is the text in the centre of each text frame?
  5. Is there correct spacing after commas and fullstops?
  6. Are all words spelt correctly?
  7. Has there been consistent use of similar fonts?
  8. Are there screen numbers on each screen?
  9. Is the company name on each screen in a footer?
  10. Is there a copyright symbol?
  11. Did you develop your own background?
  12. Is every screen filled?
Screen design /
Aesthetic appeal
  1. How aesthetically pleasing is the screen layout?
  2. How well is attention focused on the most important information?
  3. How consistent is the positioning of information?
  4. How legible is the font size?
  5. How meaningful is the use of colour?
  6. How appropriate is the use of flashing / blinking?
  7. How appropriate is the use of highlighting / boxing / outlining?
Content
  1. How accurate / correct is the content?
  2. How well is the content introduced?
  3. How accurately does the material coincide with the stated objectives of the program?
  4. How appropriate is the level of difficulty?
  5. How comprehensive is the information?
  6. How meaningful / practical are the examples?
  7. How accurately is copyright acknowledged?
Graphics and
animation
  1. How well do graphics illustrate, enhance and reinforce information (drawings, pictures, diagrams, maps, tables)?
  2. How appropriate is the level of detail?
  3. How relevant is the animation?
Language and
cultural bias
  1. How well are terminology, abbreviations and jargon explained (glossaries)?
  2. How correct is spelling, punctuation and grammar?
  3. How appropriate is the reading level?
  4. How consistent is reading level?
  5. How appropriate are the style and tone?
  6. How free is the program from cultural / gender bias?
